Actress Manjari Phadnis cries as she accuses society dog of attacking her head with a rod
Actress Manjari Phadnis shared an emotional video alleging that some people in her society brutally attacked the community’s dog named Mickey. Her account has drawn attention to Mickey’s disappearance, an alleged confession, and calls for stronger animal cruelty laws.

He alleged that some people brutally murdered him. In the video, she said that Mickey was abandoned by his family and has been a part of their society since 2019 or 2020.

Phadnis, an animal lover, said that Mickey has gone missing and residents are trying to find him. She said they made posters, put them up throughout the area, and talked to security guards and others to find out what had happened to him and where he had gone.
Sharing details in the video, he said, “I wish I never had to make this video, but I think it’s really important.” She described Mickey as a “very sweet dog” and said residents were constantly looking for him. Phadnis then said that someone from the society had confessed that Mickey was sleeping quietly near the basement area when he was attacked on the head with a stick or an iron rod.
“He was very disoriented. They dragged him into the stairwell area between B1 and the lobby, and they beat him so bad that he started bleeding from the mouth. He peed, peed, and soiled the place. He was half dead, and they just put him inside a gurney, and they dumped him in an empty area in the back,” she said.

Phadnis said they don’t know if Mickey survived and they are searching for his body. He also said that people with “criminal minds” feel safe in taking the illegal route to eliminate dogs they do not like, including community dogs who are harmless, loved and cared for.
Recalling Mickey, he said that he was a long-haired dog whom he would often take home, bathe, groom and comb. She said he was a “very happy boy” who would run around the house after bathing.
“He’s gone,” she said, ending that portion of the video.
Along with the video, Phadnis wrote, “Our Mickey was brutally murdered and we are going to fight for him. This should never happen again to any dog in any society! People should be afraid of hurting an animal! We need stronger laws against animal cruelty!”
He also thanked Javier Bernard Santiago, Sanket Kadam and others in the society who, he said, stood with him in the fight for justice for Mickey.
