Actor Sivakarthikeyan meets CM Vijay before the release of Jana Nayagan
Ahead of the release of Jana Nayagan, actor Sivakarthikeyan met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay and shared pictures of their meeting. In his note, he praised Vijay’s journey and described their relationship as a constant bond of brotherhood.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan met actor-turned-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Vijay ahead of the release of Jana Nayakan and later shared details of the meeting on social media. In his post, Sivakarthikeyan praised Vijay’s journey from cinema to the Chief Minister’s office and described his relationship with the actor-politician as one of “brotherhood”.
Sivakarthikeyan shared a series of photos from the meeting on Instagram. In the first picture, he is seen presenting a bouquet to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The second shows the two embracing, while the third shows them talking.

Sharing the pictures, Sivakarthikeyan wrote, “Some of the journeys from entertaining hearts to leading the state are truly extraordinary. It was an honor to greet our Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay sir. From Rasigan Express, to the Vijay Awards stage, to sharing the screen at GOAT and now, this moment with you, sir. It will always be the most special. The brotherhood. The bond. It continues (heart emoji).”
On the work front, Vijay’s Jana Nayakan was given an A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after a long delay. The runtime of the film is now 3 hours and 3 minutes.
The production company, KVN Productions, confirmed the release date of Jan Nayakan as 15 July. Its X post read, “Tested by fire. Forged by time. Made for history. The tougher the fight, the louder the victory. #JanaNayaganFromJustice @JagadishBliss @LohithNK01 @RamVJ2412 @TSseries (sic).”
Jan Naygan It was initially slated to release on January 9, before the Pongal weekend earlier this year, but its schedule became uncertain following legal proceedings related to the censor certificate. This argument stems from the political aspects of the story, in which Vijay is portrayed as the ultimate leader and protector of the masses. A section of those opposing the film’s certification argued that it could influence voters ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections earlier this year.
The case reached the Madras High Court, leading to multiple hearings and delay in the announcement of the theatrical release date. More than two months after Vijay won the elections and became the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the producers finally received the film’s certification. The film was recently certified with an A certificate, paving the way for the makers to set the film’s worldwide release date as July 23.
Directed by H Vinoth, Jan Naygan It stars Vijay in the lead role along with Pooja Hegde. The cast also includes Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narayan in lead roles.
The music of the film has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
