One cannot help but agree that especially in recent years, Rajinikanth has given one highly energetic performance after another. It all started with the 2014 release Lingaa, which was followed by consecutive mega hits like Kabali, Kaala, 2.0, Petra, Jailer, Laal Salaam and most recently Vettaiyaan.

The actor seems to be aging like a fine wine and he always tries to take it up a notch with each of his releases. Moreover, the fact that even at this age he can perform high octane action sequences with ease and groove to the tunes of peppy dance numbers proves that no one can take away his complete dedication towards the craft from him .

However, while Rajinikanth has now reached the pinnacle of success, things have not always been good for him. The actor has had to go through rejections and tough challenges to achieve the global stardom that he is enjoying now.

In January 2020, during the audio launch of her film Darbar, Thalaivaa recalled an important moment in her life when, after being highly insulted by a filmmaker, she vowed to prove her worth.

Sharing that he had promised himself that he would never return without a car to the sets of the film where he was insulted, the actor had said, “It was then that I realized that if I went to AVM Studios in a foreign car, If I don’t come back, I am not Rajinikanth.”

On the work front, Rajinikanth will next be seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie.
