Aamir Khan on doing six films together, says it’s almost 10 years of active life
Aamir Khan is working on six projects, and he shared that he has a decade left in his active career.
Actor and superstar Aamir Khan, with an extensive career spanning almost four decades in the film industry, is currently working on six projects simultaneously. In a recent interview, the 59-year-old actor explained his reasons for the move and said that he feels he has about a decade of active life left in him.
Recently, in an interview given to The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir Khan told about his decision. “I have never done six films at once in my life. This time, I had my own reason for it. When I finally decided that, ‘Okay, I will not leave films now’, the next thought that came to my mind was that This is probably the last 10 years of my active working life,” he said.
His ex-wife Kiran Rao, who participated in the interview, disagreed with the notion that his career was at an end, citing the example of 97-year-old Clint Eastwood. Aamir Khan reacted to this by saying, “You guys are giving an extreme example. He is one of those rare people who is in his 90s and is still thinking straight.”
Aamir further shared, “You can’t trust life, we can die tomorrow. So, I am saying, I have about 10 years of active life. I am 59 years old. Till I am 70 years old “If it doesn’t happen, hopefully I’ll be healthy enough to be productive.” So, then I thought, I should make my last 10 years the most productive I can be. More than that, as I grow up, I want to support talents I believe in – writers, directors, all creative people. I believe this is a platform for talents to grow before they are I should retire at the age of 70. That’s why I did more films.”
Aamir Khan makes his return as a producer with Missing Ladies, India’s official entry for the Oscars 2025. He expressed his desire to support more such films in the future. To achieve his vision on a larger scale, the actor appointed Aparna Purohit as the CEO of Aamir Khan Productions. He said, “I can’t work on a large scale alone. If I want to support talent on a large scale, I’ll need someone to take care of it while I’m busy with other projects.”
Aamir had considered leaving the business during the pandemicHowever, his family convinced him to reconsider his decision. In 2022, after the poor performance of Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir announced a break from acting to devote more time to his family, admitting that he had neglected them for years.
