Tom Hanks and Robin Wright reunite on screen for the upcoming generational drama Here, 30 years after starring together in the 1994 cult classic hit Forrest Gump. However, the Castaway actors claim that they have brought “some versions” of their previous characters to the new characters. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Hanks, who plays Richard in the upcoming film, claims he has a bit of Forrest in him.

“Films are limited,” she said. The Academy Award winner agreed that both she and Wright (who plays Margaret) brought the “full spirit” of their first film to other films. He added that he has also played his iconic roles in his previous projects, such as Chuck in Castaway and the Queen in Beowulf.

He added, “It’s wrestling with the common sense of the time, even though it may be a surreal thing.” Hanks added, “We’ve come a long way to get here.” Rubicon” as they move from not being parents to becoming parents, something that can be drawn as a parallel to Forrest and Jenny’s story.

He explained, “In all of these films, our characters and the themes that you want to examine are about the same Rubicon.” In the film, Richard (Hanks) and Margaret (Wright) are high school lovers who eventually get married. and living in Richard’s family home after an accidental pregnancy.

While the first believes that it is a happy family, the second feels that she is trapped with no way of escape, which is portrayed in such a way that the audience will feel trapped.

The official synopsis states, “An intergenerational story about families and the special place they live in, sharing love, loss, laughter and life.” Hanks explained that a major difference between Richard and Margaret was their approach to the household. He said, “There’s a conflict between Richard seeing his home as a place of solace and safety and Margaret seeing this house as a prison. And yet, they love each other.”

Director Robert Zemeckis – who reunited with the stars since working on Forrest Gump – agreed with Hanks’ statement. “Of course, it was powerful because it happened right here, and the part here, which has a different meaning for each character, is part of the fabric of it all,” he explained.
