After appearing before the Chennai Family Court on Wednesday, actor Ravi Mohan and his astraged wife Aarti filed individual petitions. While Ravi said that there is no intention to continue their marriage, Aarti sought a monthly alimony of Rs 40 lakh.
Earlier, Ravi Mohan had filed a petition demanding a divorce, after which the court directed the couple to participate in reconciliation sessions. Both were participating in these sessions as per the instructions.
In a court hearing on 21 May, Ravi reiterated his request for divorce and urged the court to reject Aarti’s petition for coitus. The judge advised both sides to reconsider their petitions and postpone the case by 12 June.
Meanwhile, on 20 May, Aarti issued a statement in which the allegations against her were addressed and clarified. He convicted a “third person” for the breakdown of his marriage and questioned that Ravi had waited for more than a decade to wait if he feels “STIFAL”.
She wrote, “There is no one of them why our marriage is suffering. There is a third person in our marriage. Whatever was nothing between us was nothing. It ‘light of your life’ brought only darkness to us. This is the truth.”
Aarti further claimed that he had evidence that this “third person” was included before the divorce papers were filed.
Ravi Mohan and Aarti, who married in 2009, are publicly accusing each other as their legal battle continues.
