There is no option: Robert de Nero replied if he is afraid of death on 81
Actor Robert de Niro opened the death rate at the ongoing Cannes International Film Festival 2025. When asked if he was afraid of death, D Nero responded to the poem, referring to ‘options’ and ‘hugging life’.

Actor Robert de Niro recently launched the trailer of his new documentary at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival. He talked about his father -based documentary. Hollywood veteran, being a father himself, talked about paternity and his own mortality in a discussion conducted by French visual artist JR, working on Dero film.
The 81 -year -old actor reflecting paternity and death, saying, “Finally, this will be something that can only make it more special. It is not necessary that I see the last thing,” DiversityAsked if he is afraid of death, he said, “I have no choice, so you can’t be afraid of it.”
He further said, “I am afraid, but I have no choice. So if you know that you have no choice, you cannot be afraid of it. You just have to learn to embrace life, move forward and do everything good and bad.”
De Nero said that he is not sure when the documentary will be released. He shared that the production of the film could continue even after his death. Pointing to JR, De Niro said, “So once I am not even around, he is going to shoot just and forever, asking me questions when I am in my coffin.”

Actor Leonardo Dicaprio will also be depicted in the documentary. The 50-year-old, who presented the co-star of his ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ in 2025 with an honorary Palame de’ar, appreciated him and said, “It’s a matter of Bob: he does not say too much, but when he does so, it matters. Is it for his friends, his family, fighting for democracy or supporting the art of filmmaking.”
Meanwhile, in his powerful speech in ear, D Nero called US President Donald Trump during another speech and called him the “Palestine President” and the enemy of art. He said, “In my country, we are fighting like hell for democracy that we once gave. And it affects all of us here because the arts are democratic. Arts are inclusive. It brings people together like tonight. Arts seeks the truth, art hugs diversity and that is why art is a danger – that is a danger – we are a danger – we are a threat – we are a threat – we are a danger – we are a danger.”
The Cannes International Film Festival began on May 13, 2025 and will continue until May 24, 2025.
