Aamir Khan produced films after coming under the purview of acting. In his brilliant career, he also tried his hand at direction. Now, Mr. Perfectionist is eager to tell the story of Mahabharata in his own way. In an interview recently, Khan said that he is expecting several directors for his Magnum Oppus.
During a recent conversation with Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir Khan spoke about the future of the Indian film industry. He also shared those schemes for his next production enterprise. The PK actor said that an ambition he has, which he is expecting to start this year, is working on the Mahabharata.
“This is one of my biggest ambitions,” he said, saying that the writing process will take a few years only. Aamir said that he would join the team as one of the manufacturers. Asked if he would act in the film as well, the Dangal actor said, “We will see who we should cast on the basis of which part we are suitable for.”
Asked if he will work on the director’s chair for Magnum Oppus, the actor said that Mahabharata is a film that cannot be told at once. However, it is too early to say whether it would dilute the film, she said that the story will be told in many films. Therefore, for this, they will need several directors if they have to plan it within a certain time line.
Talking about his mind, Lagaan Star further said that if films are made one after the other, it will take a long time. Therefore, they would be looking at it to shoot all parts together. “I think in that case you may need more than one director,” Aamir took a pinch.
Meanwhile, on the work front, he is also stopping some projects, including the Sitare land cross. Pinkvilla recently said that Khan is set to bring a film directed by RS Prasana on the big screen on June 20, 2025.
