Tamil star Ajit Kumar is back; This time, he is not only making noise, but also setting records on fire. Just four months after its final dramatic release, Ajit returns to the big screen with good bad ugly, and the reaction is no less than explosives. Expectations are already being re -written by high amounts of advance reservation, especially in Tamil Nadu, where fans are snatching tickets such as a festival release with just two days to go.
Good bad ugly, which produces Mythry movie makers, has earned Rs 23.82 crore in advance sales for its initial weekend (April 10-13), which is spread over 9,380 shows in 308 theaters. This is an incredible achievement, given that the film has not been released yet.
Here is day-wise breakdown:
Day-wise | Collection |
Thursday | 12 crores rupees |
Friday | 3.88 crore rupees |
Saturday | 4.06 crore rupees |
sunday | 3.85 crores |
What is attracting attention how good bad ugly has already overtaken Vidamuirchi (Rs 23.58 crore) in earlier sales and is close to some of the biggest Tamil releases in recent memory. With a booking of two more days, the film is on track to cross both the jailer (Rs 26.20 crore) and Vijay’s goat (Rs 25.24 crore). Only Leo is above Rs 31.64 crore, which cannot be safe for a long time.
This growth indicates that Ajit’s star power has not diminished despite the recent flop spate and that the good bad ugly has already hit a raga with the audience, despite the trailer is the only campaigner weapon he has ignored. The major on-screen demoners of action, conspiracy, and Ajit are clearly complemented each other.
If good bad ugly creates such speed before its release, it can become a box-office sensation and possibly the biggest surprise hit of 2025. Will it jump on Leo? In the next 48 hours, in terms of advance sales, we will find out.
