Actor Saif Ali Khan has joined hands with the fiery filmmaker Hansal Mehta for the upcoming crime drama Black River, the conversion of Nilanjana Roy’s novel.

Roy confirmed this news with a post on Monday, which wrote, “It is official!

Currently in the early stages of pre-production, the black river is still in the development of the script, in which Mehta has cured the screenplay. The film is expected to go on the floor by mid -2012.

The secret of a murder, the black river delays the subjects of love, friendship and sorrow. Located in a fictional village of Titharpur near Delhi, the plot revolves around the murder of an eight-year-old girl named Muniya. The novel was published in 2022.

Saif Ali Khan, who was last seen in Telugu film Devra: Part 1, is also working on Race 4. Amidst speculation about the film’s dress, producer Ramesh Turni confirmed that only Saif and Siddharth Malhotra are currently in talks for the project, which remains in its scripting phase.

Meanwhile, Saif Jewel is ready for the release of the thief: The Hest begins, the co-act of Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is ready for premiere on Netflix on 25 April.
