Apple’s iPhone lineup has long been criticized for keeping its best performance technology exclusive for Pro model. While the mid-range Android phone now comes with a 120Hz display refresh rate, the iPhone 16 still has a 60Hz refresh rate, which looks old on the specs sheet than its peers. However, Apple may address it with anticipated iPhone 17 series. According to a report by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, all models, including the promotion technology of Apple, including the standard iPhone 17-, which means the standard iPhone will finally get the 120Hz refresh rate.

This means that the performance of iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air (no iPhone plus variants, according to rumors) will be able to scaling between 1Hz and 120Hz with promotion technology. This will allow the devices to dynamically adjust the fresh rate for smooth scrolling and better power efficiency.

design changes

With a high fresh rate, Apple’s next generation lineup is one of the biggest rumor changes in the iPhone 17 Air with a replacement of the iPhone Plus model with a new version. This model is expected to be thin and lighter than the previous iPhones, with a 120Hz promotion technique similar to the 6.6 -inch display and other models.

Another major design change is that the iPhone 17 is also rumored to facilitate a sophisticated aluminum chassis. Additionally, a possible design shift includes an integrated action and volume button, which integrates all three functions into the same touch-sensitive control, such as how the capture button works on the iPhone 16 Pro.

More powerful chipset

Apple introduces a new and more powerful chipset for its lineup every year, and the iPhone 17 will be no exception. The iPhone 17 series is expected to be operated by the new A19 chip, characterizing a more advanced A19 Pro variants. These chips will probably increase AI processing capabilities and support new Apple intelligence and more electric-starvation features. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Air is rumored to use Apple’s C1 modem, better battery efficiency and better wireless connectivity.

iPhone 17 camera upgrade

On the camera front, Apple is allegedly planning a significant upgrade to the front-facing camera. All iPhone 17 models, including the base version, are required for the facility of 24-megapixel front camera-reduce the resolution of the 12-megapixel shooter of the iPhone 16.

Better battery

The iPhone 17 despite rumors of a slimmer design for the wind, sources claim that its battery life will be equal to current iPhones. Apple can achieve this through a combination of high-density battery technology, software optimization and space-savings measures in some models.

iPhone 17 expects release date and pricing

Apple is known to stick to its annual autumn release schedule for new iphones and apple watches, and the iPhone 17 series is expected to follow the same pattern. The launch event is expected to be held in the second week of September 2025, with general availability immediately after the pre-order opens and by mid-September.

For pricing, the conflicting report suggests either slight increase or continuity of existing value points. The iPhone 16 series currently starts at Rs 79,900 for the base model.
