Actor Parvati on her role in Ulozuku: I feel strong because of Anju
During an interview recently, Malayalam actor Parvati Thiruvothu shared his experience of filming for Anju’s role in the film Uluzuku, for which she was named Critics Choice Awards 2025 in the Best Supporting Actress category.
Fluding actress Parvati Thiruvothu, who has earned a Best Supporting Actress nomination in Choice Awards 2025 for Ullozhukku, recently opened up about her experience working on Malayalam film. In a conversation Film Critics GuildHe faced physical and emotional challenges that he faced and was working with director Christo Tommy.
Parvati recalled an important scene in the film, sharing how an unexpected physical discomfort really helped her performance. “Interval sequence, where he has to ask, ‘Is it my son’s baby?’
Talking about his cooperation with director Christo Tommy, he admitted that his working relationships were part of difficulties.
“Christo and I had many moments of misunderstanding to each other.
Parvati also reflected how deeply she is associated with her character, Anju. “Initially, I did not see any similarity among us, but as I slowly started to keep in mind the subtle similarities, I started recognizing small connections – especially in the poor options made by me and in that sense, with time, I started understanding the impact of this film.

Ulozuku appeared in the roles of Urvashi and Parvati Thiruvothu, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Alnsiere Le Lopez, Prashant Murali, and Jaya Kurp in supporting roles. It was released dramatically on 21 June 2024, and received widely significant appreciation for the performance of Urvashi and Parvati. After his dramatic run, Ullozhukku became available for streaming on prime videos in India from August 2, 2024.
