The crime-thriller series Dabba Cartel led by Shabana Azmi took a premiere on Netflix on Friday, February 28. With a complicated trailer, the show had already created enthusiasm among fans. The characteristic of Anjali Anand in an important role, the series turns into an entertaining story. Recently, the actress addressed the label as a ‘plus-shaped’ and questioned why male actors like Govinda and Rishi Kapoor were never subject to the same classification.

In an interview with fever FM, Anjali Anand shared her view on the prejudices of the industry, which revealed that despite her success on digital platforms, she has been considered so far for the lead role in mainstream films.

He said, “Nobody ever questioned that Govinda and Hrithik Roshan, who looked very different, but I love both of them, I probably love Govinda very much. But no one asks him to a plus-shaped actor or not. Any Rishi Kapoor will not be a plus actor, he is an actor.

The Dabba Cartel actress expressed her disappointment with constant discussion around the body size, instead emphasized the need to normalize it. She shared that she intentionally avoids advocating the representation of the plus-shaped, despite knowing that it could be financially beneficial. For him, there is no difference between the body and others depending on the type of body.

Anjali threw light on double standards in the industry when women came to talk. He told how actors were shown to actors with different types of bodies in films like Chandni, yet their appearance was never questioned because they were men.

However, when a woman plays a role like Vidya Balan in a dirty picture, the focus turns on her body rather than her performance. He questioned why male actors are never labeled as ‘plus-shaped’, while women constantly face such investigations.

Meanwhile, Dabba Cartel, Shabana Azmi, Jyothika, Anjali Anand, Shalini Pandey, Gajraj Rao and Sai Tamhankar, directed by Hitashi Bhatia, claim a stellar artists. Written by Vishnu Menon and Bhavna Kher, the Netflix series is supported by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment. The show is made by Shibani Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapoor and Akankasha Seda.
