He also praised Kangana’s portrayal of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. “I want to congratulate him for playing this role. The film is not just about the Emergency, but also about what happened before it – the 1971 war. In many ways it is like watching the life journey of the late Prime Minister. It is India’s history that reminds us of the importance of keeping democracy alive,” Fadnavis said.

“This journey has been quite challenging for me and my team. Today, the Chief Minister watched our film, and he shared words of appreciation and encouragement. It is a huge honor for us,” Kangana said.

Urging the audience to watch the film in theatres, he said, “It is a clean film which does not contain any kind of obscenity. It is a very dignified film and I would urge all of you to watch it with your families. With only a week left for Republic Day, I hope this film honoring the power of the Constitution will be watched throughout the week.

Emergency, a biographical drama based on the life and times of Indira Gandhi, also stars Anupam Kher and Shreyas Talpade in pivotal roles. Anyway, the film has been released Challenges were faced in some areas.

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has urged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to ban its screening in the state. The committee expressed concern that the film could potentially hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community.
