South Korean singer Rose’s remarkable run of success continues as she makes history in the US with her hit single Apt. The Blackpink star’s song has now entered the top 10 on the Billboard Radio Songs chart, rising from number 18 in January to number 10. The feat marks a milestone, as Rose becomes the first female K-pop solo artist to crack the chart’s coveted Top 10 tier, surpassing Psy, who had the most thanks to her 2012 hit Gangnam Style. Despite the excitement, the Internet is divided when it comes to the song’s success and its attribution, with a section of users crediting the track’s success to Rose’s collaborator and Grammy winner Bruno Mars.

While the collaboration with Bruno Mars has certainly boosted the track’s airplay thanks to his established fanbase and radio appeal, it’s important to acknowledge Rose’s individual talents that have defined her solo career. The apt showcases their ability to connect with a global audience.

Earlier, BTS also made history with their hit Dynamite, which reached the top 10 on the Radio Songs chart, a milestone that now puts Rose on par with the legendary group.
