Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has had a remarkable journey in the industry. Debuting at the age of 19 in Student of the Year (2012) alongside Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, the film also featured Ram Kapoor in a supporting role. Reminiscing about their time together, Ram shared his thoughts on Alia’s tremendous progress and said that if she continues on her current path, she could become the next Deepika Padukone.

In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, actor Ram Kapoor revealed how Alia Bhatt’s journey in Bollywood has defied initial skepticism. He shared that in his early days, many people in the industry looked at him with suspicion due to his youth and inexperience. At that time, very few people would have imagined that she would achieve such incredible success. His rise is certainly a remarkable story of proving the naysayers wrong.

She further explained that, at the time of Student of the Year, many people believed that Alia Bhatt’s co-stars, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra had better success. In comparison, Alia was seen as just a ‘little girl’ with her youthful charm and innocent appearance. Very few people expected that she would make such a brilliant career.

Reflecting on his journey from those early days to his current stature, the actor expressed his admiration for his achievements, and described his success as nothing short of extraordinary. He said, ‘For Varun and Siddharth, people thought that perhaps they had a chance, but Alia was a child. Considering what he has achieved today, hats off!”

Ram also observed how Alia Bhatt has undergone a remarkable transformation over the years, and has evolved into a highly professional actor. He highlighted his dedication and work ethic while sharing insights from ad filmmakers who have worked with him. On set, Alia is known for her humility, addressing every director as ‘Sir’ regardless of their age or experience, demonstrating her down-to-earth and respectful approach to her craft.

Ram Kapoor compared Alia Bhatt to Deepika Padukone and said, “She is Alia Bhatt today, married to a Kapoor. If she goes the way she is going now, she will be Deepika.” Throwing light on her journey, he emphasized that Alia’s success is not just about her star-kid background, but about her unmatched professionalism. He appreciated their work ethic and said that in today’s competitive industry, only those with such dedication move ahead, while others risk extinction.

On the professional front, Ram Kapoor was recently seen in Jio Studios’ series ‘Khalbaali Records’. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has an exciting lineup, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, in which she stars alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She is also gearing up for Alpha, co-starring Sharvari, adding to her already impressive list of projects.
