Don’t ask political questions: Rajinikanth’s absurd answer on women’s safety
Superstar Rajinikanth refused to answer questions related to women’s safety in Tamil Nadu. On January 7, he was seen at the Chennai airport as he left for Thailand to shoot for Coolie.
Amid the outrage in the state following the sexual assault of a 19-year-old student at Chennai’s Anna University, superstar Rajinikanth ignored questions about women’s safety in Tamil Nadu. Rajinikanth answered media questions at the Chennai International Airport as he left for Thailand to shoot his upcoming film Coolie.
While he answered questions about his acting projects, he gave a nonsensical answer when asked about women’s safety. Rajinikanth replied in a stern tone, “Don’t ask me political questions.”

On 23 December a 19 year old engineering student sexually assaulted Inside Anna University campus. In her complaint, she said that accused Gnanasekaran, 37, dragged her to a nearby bush and assaulted her. A woman SIT comprising IPS officers is investigating the case.
The incident, which took place at one of the prestigious colleges, sparked widespread outrage in Tamil Nadu, raising questions over women’s safety.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth shared an update about his upcoming film Coolie. He said, “70 percent shooting has been completed. The next schedule of the film will be from January 13 to January 28.”
Rajinikanth is currently shooting Director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s CoolieProduced by Sun Pictures, Coolie will also star an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan. The film is expected to enjoy a grand release in theaters in 2025.
