South superstar Allu Arjun’s latest film Pushpa 2 continues to earn well. According to tracking and trading site Sacknilk, the film directed by Sukumar has earned Rs 1199 crore nett domestically till the 31st day of its release.

Earlier, the filmmakers had announced that the film has crossed the impressive figure of Rs 1800 crore globally. Although the film’s earnings saw a rise on New Year’s Day, its performance dropped shortly thereafter. Nevertheless, Pushpa 2 continues to attract viewers, especially in the northern regions, and is expected to pick up momentum again over the weekend.

While the film generated a lot of buzz among audiences and fans, critics were somewhat divided, with India Today Digital giving it 2.5 stars. “There are several moments in the first part that prove the power of Pushp Raj. While these are great moments, they end up proving the same thing over and over rather than moving the story forward. For most of Part 1, we get to see Pushp Raj. “As we see Raj and Bhanwar Singh take on Shekhawat without actually coming face to face, the story starts to come together in the second half, which manages to hold your attention,” read a part of the review.

Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 focuses on the character of Pushparaj (played by Allu Arjun) and tracks his Lal Chandan syndicate over the course of two hit films.

Apart from Allu Arjun, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagdish Pratap Bandari, Sunil, Anasuya Bhardwaj, Rao Ramesh and Jagapathi Babu in important roles.
