Thiru Manikkam or Thiru. Manickam starring Samuthirakani released on the big screens on 27 December. Directed by Nanda Periyasamy, the Tamil family drama performed well in theaters and even earned praise from Rajinikanth. Thiru Manickam will start streaming on ZEE5 from January 31. It is being told that this film will be released online in Tamil language. More details about its OTT release are still under wraps.

The story of the film revolves around the life of Manikam. He owns a lottery shop and struggles to support his family. He has his wife Sumati and two daughters, one of whom has difficulty speaking. Despite his financial difficulties and Sumathi’s efforts to earn extra income, Manickam chooses honesty when an elderly man, unable to pay for a lottery ticket, unknowingly selects the winning number worth crores.
Determined to return the ticket, Manickam sets out on a challenging journey, in which he faces opposition from his family, false allegations from the police, and many obstacles. His honesty is rooted in a childhood lesson from a kindly lottery salesman that deeply influenced his values.
Manickam’s selflessness catches the public’s attention and earns him widespread praise. The Chief Minister, recognizing his actions, offered his wife a government job and ensured that his daughter’s medical and educational needs were met. An elderly man uses his lottery prize to set up a hospital in his village with government assistance.

Thiru Manikkam features a group of artists called Manikkam led by Samuthirakani. Bharathiraja plays the character of an elderly man, while Ananya plays the character of Sumathi. Nassar plays the brother, Vadivukkarasi plays the elderly man’s wife, and Thambi Ramaiah appears as Gurumurthy, an NRI from the UK.
Meanwhile, the film is directed by Nanda Periyasamy and produced by GP Ravi Kumar, Chintha Gopal Krishna Reddy and Raja Senthil.
