Television actor Pankit Thakkar revealed that he was in Jammu during the Resai terror attack. Thakkar, who was planning to start his pilgrimage to the Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra, decided to return to his hotel after hearing about the incident. The bus carrying pilgrims to the Shiv Khori temple was targeted in the attack, resulting in the death of ten people and injuries to many earlier this week.

In an interview ETimes, The ‘Barsaatein’ actor recalled the horrific incident and said that it took him several days to open up about it. “It took me several days to come out of this experience and talk about it. I saw people in pain and running around. It was scary. I am deeply saddened and outraged by the recent terror attack in Jammu Reasi. The violence that has been going on in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few days is completely shameful. It is disappointing to see the loss of innocent lives and the rising tension in the region,” Thakkar said.

He condemned the terror attack and urged everyone to unite to send a strong message to these groups. The actor said, “My condolences go out to all the victims and their families affected by this brutal attack. It is devastating to think that lives are being destroyed by such acts of violence. Jammu and Kashmir has always been a land of unmatched beauty but these incidents tarnish its reputation and disrupt the peace that the region craves. The attack in Jammu and Reasi is another reminder that we must stand united against such acts of cowardice and evil.”

Nine people, including a minor, were killed and 41 others injured when a 53-seater bus carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Delhi fell into a deep gorge following firing by terrorists in Katra on Sunday (June 9) evening.

The ongoing search operation under major operation is aimed at gathering more evidence and nabbing the terrorists who may be hiding in these remote areas.
