Mauritius’ Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Dhananjay Ramful, on Tuesday said he wanted to visit the Ram temple in Ayodhya after the elections in Mauritius and added that he was impressed by the temple built in Ayodhya.
Speaking to news agency ANI, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the development and temple in Ayodhya. He said that he started his tour from Banaras and visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple there.
Speaking about his visit to the Ram temple, Dhananjay Ramful said, “I came here on a personal visit. You know, there were general elections in Mauritius and after the general elections, I always wanted to come here. This is my Wished I could come.” And saw Lord Ram. So I started my pilgrimage in Banaras, I went to Kashi Vishwanath temple and then I came here to seek blessings of Lord Ram.
Praising PM Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath for the development in Ayodhya, he said, “I congratulate Chief Minister Yogi ji, Prime Minister Narendra Modi for whatever they have done regarding development here in Ayodhya.” “As a temple it is a great temple and it is very huge and I am very impressed with the temple built here.”
Earlier this year, PM Modi led the rituals at the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lala in the sanctum sanctorum of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The grand Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple has been constructed in the traditional Nagar style.
Intricate depictions of Hindu gods and goddesses are displayed on the pillars and walls of the temple. In the main sanctum on the ground floor, the childhood form of Lord Shri Ram (the idol of Shri Ramlala) is kept.
Earlier in November, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had congratulated Dhananjay Ramful on his appointment as Mauritius’ Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade.
In a post on X, S Jaishankar said he looked forward to working closely with Dhananjay Ramful to strengthen the “special bond of friendship” and deepen multidimensional cooperation.

Mauritius recently held elections on 10 November, in which Naveen Ramgoolam won a historic victory. PM Modi had congratulated Naveen Ramgoolam on his historic election victory in Mauritius. In his message, PM Modi said he looked forward to working closely with Dr Ramgoolam to further strengthen their “unique partnership”.
