India Today Digital rated Viduthalai Part 2 three out of five starsPart of the review reads: “Vijay Sethupathi anchors the film with a brilliant performance, while Suri as Kumarasena supports him in the second half. Suri really shines during the intermission and climax. Viduthalai Part 2 Official System raises questions, and it shows enough moments that portray the arrogance of the higher-ups, every supporting actor from Kishore, Ilavarasu, Thamizh, Chethan to Balaji Manju Warrier played their roles and could have had a stronger screentime.”

While Viduthalai Part 2 did not face any major competition in the Tamil belt, it did get competition from Kannada film UI and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which is still performing well at the box office.
