Kannada film UI actor-director Upendra sheds light on his allegorical interpretation of epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata in an exclusive conversation with India Today Digital. The actor emphasized on its timeless relevance while offering a unique perspective on the epic.

Upendra, widely considered a ‘real star’, talks about His films and their universal relevanceHe said, “My films are timeless because they resonate with everyone’s journey – mine, yours and ours; Life remains constant even after decades, and the truths I explore in my films also remain constant. I build from my heart and soul, with a foundation of integrity. While Om was an exception, a reflection of its time that became a big hit, my other works delve deeper. Take Ramayana for example. Ram represents the soul, Sita represents our thinking, the golden deer represents our will and Ravana represents our thoughts – which makes it eternally relevant.”
