Honor is already an established brand in the foldable smartphone market with its Magic V series and today starts a new chapter with its first clamshell foldable – the Magic V Flip. This is one of the most impressive flip foldables, with the main future-oriented giant 4-inch LTPO OLED cover screen.
The outward-facing panel brings 1,092 x 1,200px resolution (405 ppi), 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1,600 nits maximum brightness, and 2,160 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. It cleverly uses its large diagonal by splitting content like apps into 16:9 mode for better scaling and supports horizontal splitting for watching videos with a control panel on the bottom half.
You also get multiple Always On Display (AoD) options and the ability to run full-screen apps directly on the cover display. Honor has also added some clever Continuity features that automatically expand your apps when you move from the cover screen to the main display.

Talking about the main display, it is a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED with an FHD+ resolution, 21:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It also has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, covers 92% of the BT.2020 colour space, and is Dolby Vision certified.
The Magic V Flip folds completely flat and measures 14.89mm when closed and 7.5mm when opened. It uses a proprietary hinge mechanism developed by Honor with lightweight steel foil components and an aluminum frame.
The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, while the entry-level version has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Honor has somehow managed to fit a 0.25mm ultra-thin liquid-cooled VC plate that covers 2,300mm of heat dissipation area.
