The fiber present in fenugreek helps keep your digestive system healthy, and it is rich in antioxidants like vitamin C and flavonoids. The best part? Here are 3 easy ways to store fenugreek leaves

1. Dry and store

Do you want to keep fenugreek for a long time? Drying it is your best option! Simply separate the leaves from the stem and wash them thoroughly (3-4 times to remove dirt). Spread them on a cotton cloth to dry, then store them in an airtight container. Whenever you have a craving for fenugreek, you will have fenugreek leaves available to use in your favorite dishes.

2. Store in the freezer

Freezing fenugreek is another smart way to store it. First of all, wash the leaves 3-4 times to remove any kind of dirt. Let them dry completely, then chop them finely and remove the stalks. Pack the cut leaves in a ziplock bag, seal it, and put it in the freezer. Just take them out when you’re ready to cook!

3. Wrap in paper towel

If you want to keep fenugreek fresh for up to 12 days, wrap it in a paper towel. Do not wash the leaves before storing them; Wash them only when you are ready to use them. Once wrapped, place the leaves in a plastic bag, press out the air, seal the bag and refrigerate. You will have fresh fenugreek available for more than a week!

Here are 5 dishes you can make with fenugreek

1. Fenugreek Thepla

A popular Gujarati breakfast, thepla is made by kneading dough with fenugreek leaves, ginger, chilli, herbs and curd. It’s perfect for breakfast!

2. Methi Paratha

This flavourful paratha is great for any meal – breakfast, lunch or dinner. Pair it with some curd or pickle for complete enjoyment.

3. Methi Puri

Methi Puri is a must have in Indian homes, especially during festivals. These crunchy treats taste best when served with spicy potato curry or masala!

4. Fenugreek Kadhi

This variation on the classic kadhi recipe adds fenugreek leaves for added flavour. It’s cozy and perfect for casual dining.

5. Fenugreek-Malai Peas

This rich dish has a blend of fenugreek leaves, peas, cream and spices. It pairs beautifully with naan and is guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.

So, this winter, try these delicious methi recipes and add some variety to your diet!
