A group of friends dining at a popular restaurant in Hyderabad got a shocking discovery when they reportedly found a half-burnt cigarette in their chicken biryani. According to the video posted on X (formerly Twitter), the incident took place at Bavarachi, a famous restaurant in Hyderabad, raising concerns over food safety. The video of the incident was posted on the social media platform by user Vineet on November 25. In the footage, a group of around 10 men can be seen sitting at a table with half-eaten food in front of them. One of them lifts a plate of biryani to show a lit cigarette, while others angrily shout at the restaurant staff.

These things happen. When I was a college student, I found a cigarette butt in a bowl of sambar in my college canteen. We are talking about 1996. Didn’t create a ruckus. Worked quietly with management to improve safety. Hear from current students that the quality of food there now is very good.

The video has raised questions over food safety and hygiene in restaurants.
