Actor-model Malaika Arora has launched a new restaurant, Scarlet House, along with her son Arhaan Khan. Located in the bylanes of Bandra, Mumbai, the restaurant is housed in a 90-year-old scarlet-painted Portuguese bungalow, spread over 2,500 square feet and divided into various rooms.

Pictures from inside the restaurant, shared by Architectural Digest (AD), offer a glimpse of its luxurious interiors. The decor includes gramophones, floral-upholstered Victorian chairs, and cozy woolen throws on the sofas. Gorgeous chandeliers, vintage dishes, and lush plants add a warm and inviting touch.

Malaika and Arhaan have joined hands with Arhaan’s childhood friend Malaya Nagpal and restaurateur Dhawal Udeshi, known for co-founding popular Mumbai eateries like Gigi and Lyla. Sharing the announcement, Malaika posted a photo with Arhaan, both wearing coats embroidered with the restaurant’s name, and captioned it: “First time collaboration @scarletthousebombay.”

talking to Vogue India About the venture, Malaika said, “We both love to eat and we love to entertain people. We have traveled the world together and often return with recipes we want to recreate at home. So, starting a restaurant felt like the most organic thing to do.”

He also revealed another inspiration for opening the restaurant: his desire to have a place where he could hang out with his close friends, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Amrita Arora and Karisma Kapoor.

The restaurant’s menu offers a mix of healthy dishes as well as delicious dishes like Malabar Prawn Curry with Indrayani Rice and Red Velvet Cake.

On Wednesday, Malaika and Arhaan celebrated the launch with a dinner at Scarlett House, which was attended by their close friends.
