Here are five reasons to watch the Kannada film Maryada Prashve:
1. Trailer
The brilliantly cut two-and-a-half-minute trailer of Maryada Prashne presents the world in which the film’s protagonists are living and struggling. It shows a clear contrast between the lives, aspirations and nature of the three central characters. , with the cinematic colors that go with them; Humble, romantic and chaotic are words that can describe these three characters.
The trailer also establishes the themes, conflicts, and elements that the story will deal with. The trailer has been elevated with excellent music and cinematography, with the technical brilliance adding to the excitement in the film. The trailer of the film was launched by none other than Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep, who said that he loved the trailer and that it was “simple and strong”. Those comments describe the trailer well!

2. Sorry! Sunil Rao is back in theaters
Excuse Me is a 2003 blockbuster Kannada film directed by Prem, starring Sunil Rao in the lead role along with Ajay Rao and Ramya (Divya Spandana). Sunil Rao, who played the anti-hero in the film, became a household name after the film’s release and its 220+ day theatrical run.
Sunil played an arrogant young college student who, in a selfish move, steals his best friend’s love and pretends he is not the same, which earned him instant critical acclaim. Although he has not acted in many films since 2010, seeing him on screen in a lead role after almost a decade and a half will bring nostalgia for Kannada audiences.
3. Sakkath Studio Presents
Founded by renowned Kannada RJ RJ Pradeep, Sakkath Studios has produced many interesting short films and a few web series over the years. He takes credit for creating the first Kannada web series, Loose Connections, which starred Sunil Rao in the lead role. This new production house looks promising with its hold on new age content creation and providing opportunities for young filmmakers.
4. Competition between Kannada giants in Bigg Boss
Rakesh Adiga, who plays the lead role in the film, was the first runner-up in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9. Shine Shetty, who plays a villain in the film, was the winner of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7. One of the most successful reality shows in the Kannada language, Bigg Boss Kannada, which has been a fan favorite during its seasons, their face-off is certainly exciting. The hostility in the first scene of the trailer is proof of this. It will be interesting to see both going against each other.

5. Related relationships
As shown in the trailer, the lower middle-class lifestyle and struggles of the three lead characters and their dynamics, feels very relatable. Purnachandra Mysore, who plays the romantic lead opposite Teju Belawadi, displays a very sweet love story between two individuals who live difficult lives and support each other.
Sunil Rao and his parents, who look innocent in the trailer, display another characteristic of middle-class life. Rakesh Adiga and his political aspirations, with his tough looks, aggression and conflict, add spice to the story.
At a time when all the established actors and directors of the Kannada film industry are taking out time to present larger than life characters and stories to the audiences, many talented young filmmakers are stepping forward and making their mark.
‘Maryade Prashna’ appears to be another effort from such filmmakers, as well as a team of actors who have clearly invested in their director’s vision. It remains to be seen whether this effort will bear fruit when the film releases in theaters on November 22, 2024.
