Camera assistant dies on Anupama set, TV body criticizes production house for silence
Camera assistant Vineet Kumar Mandal died due to electric shock on the sets of Anupama. Suresh Gupta of AICWA has condemned the silence of the production house and demanded investigation and compensation.
On November 14, a camera assistant on the sets of the popular TV show Anupama died of electrocution during filming. Vineet Kumar Mandal, 32, from Bihar was handling technical equipment when he came in contact with a live wire. He was taken to the hospital but died during treatment.
Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Cut Productions, the production house behind the show, has not yet released any official statement regarding the tragedy. Meanwhile, All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) President Suresh Gupta has condemned the silence of the production house on the incident.

He said that Anupama’s producers and channels are trying to suppress this matter. “The channels, producers and production houses are trying to suppress the matter. False news was spread, but such incidents happen every time on the sets. Workers die, whether from electric shock or fire. This happens because production houses and channels do not take adequate safety precautions to save some money.”
Suresh Gupta also demanded investigation into the incident and compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of the deceased.
