Directed by Siva, it is one of the most anticipated Tamil releases of the year. The film is a fantasy action adventure film set in the medieval period, and stars Suriya as a tribal warrior. The film also marks the Tamil debut of actor Bobby Deol as the main antagonist, while Disha Patani joins the team as the lead role.
Kanguva is considered to be one of the most ambitious projects of Suriya’s career. The popular Tamil star recently spoke about the film at a promotional event and called it a labor of love. He told the audience that he wanted to be a part of this film because it is something that has never been done before. The actor also credited filmmakers SS Rajamouli and Rishabh Shetty for paving the way for such stories and establishing that there are no limits to one’s creativity and hard work.
Suriya also revealed that he shot Kanguva only in natural light and the cinematographer never used artificial lights to enhance the scenes. He also paid tribute to art director Milan and editor Nishad Yusuf, who died during production and post-production.
Kanguva is produced by Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green and UV Creations and will hit the screens on November 14.
