In the glimpse, Anushka is shown in a rural environment surrounded by valleys. Her attire – a sari, accessories and a tattooed forearm – suggests that she belongs to a local forest tribe. The clip shows him boarding a bus armed with a hand-saw. She then brutally decapitates a man on the bus, a display of rage that is reminiscent of her roles in Baahubali and Rudramadevi. As she goes back to a hut with the severed head and lights a fire Chillum (smoking pipe), this scene suggests a life steeped in crime and drugs, which appears to be a way of life for this character.

Based on a dark and gripping narrative, The Valley explores the transformation of a woman involved in the illegal cannabis trade from victim to criminal mastermind. The phrase “Victim, Perpetrator, Legend”, as seen on the previously released poster, and the recent glimpse further reinforce this theme. The tribal-inspired background score in the glimpse hints at the character’s roots before her rise to power as the “Queen of the Valley”, as suggested by the promotional material. The film will be released in five languages – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

Anushka was last seen in Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty (2023), a romantic comedy, in which she co-starred with Naveen Polishetty. The official release date of Valley, which marks the second collaboration between Anushka and Krish, has not been announced yet.
