Sony confirms new Jumanji film to be released on this date; Learn about the cast and more

The classic and timeless adventure film Jumanji is getting another entry, as Sony has confirmed. The big news comes after the announcement of two more epic films.

Sony, which has been behind many breaking news in recent times, shocked Spider-Man fans by announcing a fourth entry in the MCU and a date for Karate Kid: Legends. Meanwhile, to get everyone more excited, the production house on Monday broke the news by announcing the release date of Jummaamji 3.

The third entry in the new Jumanji series will be released on December 11, 2026. For those who don’t know, the next Zumaji entry will be the fourth installment in the original franchise, while marking the third film to be led by Dwayne Johnson. Film series.

The first Zumaji, starring Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce and Jonathan Hyde, was released in the year 1995.

Meanwhile, the rebooted film series first debuted in 2017. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was released on December 20, followed by Jumanji: The Next Level, released in 2019.

According to reports, Sony has also confirmed that all four lead actors, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black, are in talks to return in a future Jumanji film.

The rebooted version of Zumaji in the 2017 film actually takes some interesting turns, as the board game transforms itself into a video game to entice teenagers to play it. It features five playable characters: archaeologist Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone, played by Johnson; Hart’s zoologist Franklin “Mouse” Finbarr; Karen Gillian plays Commando Ruby Roundhouse; and Jack Black took over the role of cryptographer Professor Sheldon “Shelley” Oberon. The fifth character, who was revealed later, is Nick Jonas’s Jefferson.

In addition to these four great stars, the film also stars Alex Wolf, Madison Iseman, and Ser’Darius Blain, as well as Bobby Cannavale alongside Morgan Turner in the first rebooted entry.

Along with the actors, Sony also announced that Jake Kasdan will direct the 2026 film.

Meanwhile, Johnson is also set to appear in this year’s holiday movie Red One, which will be released on November 15.

Spider-Man 4 will be released in summer 2026, while Karate Kid: Legends will be released in 2025.
