The rumors about Apple’s iPhone SE lineup just got more interesting. According to recent leaks, Apple is planning to launch not only iPhone SE 4 but also iPhone SE 4 Plus. If true, it would be a major change for Apple’s budget-friendly iPhone range. These details come from Japanese website Macotakara, which obtained a 3D-printed mockup of the iPhone SE 4 and compared it to existing iPhone 14 accessories.

Macotakara’s report suggests that the iPhone SE 4 looks a lot like the iPhone 14 in terms of design and size. The mockup shows that the SE 4 will have a display size of 6.1 inches, the same as the iPhone 14. The device is expected to have a TrueDepth front camera in the same position and size as the iPhone 14, which suggests that Face ID may eventually come to the SE line. The mockup also indicates 146.7mm height, 71.5mm width, and 7.80mm thickness, matching the dimensions of the iPhone 14.

The leaked mockup also suggests that the iPhone SE 4 may feature a USB-C port instead of a traditional Lightning connector, in line with the EU’s push for a universal charging standard. As far as the bottom of the device is concerned, it is said to have five holes on the right and three on the left, which could be for stereo speakers and a built-in microphone, similar to the iPhone 14.

Interestingly, the rear camera layout on the SE 4 mockup is slightly different from the iPhone 14. The camera on the SE 4 seems smaller in diameter, and the distance between the main camera and flash is different, which means the iPhone 14 camera accessories may not fit perfectly.

The possibility of iPhone SE 4 Plus was also revealed in the leak. According to Macotakara, the iPhone SE 4 was initially developed at the same 6.7-inch size as the iPhone 14 Plus. However, it looks like Apple has now added a 6.1-inch model as well. This suggests that the SE4 Plus may offer the option of a larger screen, giving customers more variety. Whether both models will be released is still unclear, as Apple has not confirmed the final design and size range.

Apple fans have been anxiously waiting to see what the company has in store for the SE line. With design cues from the iPhone 14 and possibly the introduction of Face ID and USB-C, the iPhone SE 4 could be a big leap from its predecessor.
