Actor Fardeen Khan returned to films this year after a gap of 14 years. In a recent interview, he opened up on his decision to take a break from work and focus on being a present-day father. The 50-year-old actor had talked about welcoming his daughter through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) a few years ago.

Fardeen, who was seen with Akshay Kumar in ‘Khel Khel Mein’, told times of IndiaThat he never planned on taking such a long break, but after the birth of his daughter, he started enjoying fatherhood so much that he couldn’t go back to work for over a decade.

When asked whether taking a long break was a conscious decision, Fardeen said, “It was a conscious decision. At that time we had challenges of having children, so we moved to London. There, we had an incredible The doctor was there, and soon after, I had my daughter (via IVF) in 2013, followed by my son in 2017.”

He further added, “After the birth of my daughter, I had intended to take a two-year break to enjoy parenthood. I enjoyed being a father so much that it ended up being a break that lasted more than a decade.” I wish I hadn’t taken such a long break from work, the only good thing is that I have two beautiful children with whom I can spend so much time.”

Speculations have intensified regarding Fardeen’s separation/divorce from his wife Natasha. Although he declined to speak about the rumors, he did comment on being away from his children. The Heeramandi actor shared that he gets a chance to meet his children every four-six weeks and it is the best time of his life.

“I miss them so much”

Fardeen said that his home is full of his children’s artefacts and he misses them very much. The actor shared, “It’s not easy. I don’t want to go into why they’re away, but yes, it’s not easy. I miss them a lot. I see them every four to six weeks, And we talk on video calls.” But I definitely miss being a part of their daily lives, watching them grow up, being a part of their decision-making process and helping them find their identity.”

He further added, “My children paint, and I have put their artworks on the walls of my house in Mumbai. I miss their hugs, hugs and kisses. I keep working to keep my mind distracted. And whenever he comes to Mumbai, I arrange my entire schedule and stay with him round the clock.”

Fardeen will next be seen in Housefull 5 alongside Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Soundarya Sharma and Chitrangada Singh. He is also working on a Kannada pan-India film with actor Darshan.
