Interestingly, Apple may introduce a new model next year, which may be called iPhone 17 Slim. Now, this smartphone has been leaking for several months, but a fresh report suggests that it will feature a new type of OLED display. This device is reported to be more expensive than iPhone 17 Pro Max. Here’s everything you need to know.
Let’s first talk about the new display type. A report by DigiTimes claims that the iPhone 17 Slim will come with new OLED display technology, which will help Apple introduce a thinner profile. So, what is Apple considering offering? Well, the cited source says that the iPhone 17 Slim may use a TDDI OLED panel, which was recently introduced by Novatek. The new technology combines a touch sensor layer and display driver unit into one, which is said to reduce the thickness of the smartphone by a few millimeters.
So, the report further says that Apple will likely partner with Novatek to supply OLED panels. But, there has been no official communication on this yet, so users are advised to take details with a pinch of salt.
Now, regarding the price, The Information has previously reported that the iPhone 17 Slim will be costlier than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and one of the reasons for this could be the slim form factor and new display technology. Additionally, Apple may also consider reducing the size of the dynamic island, which means iPhone users may get a much smaller notch on the display.

Currently, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is selling at Rs 1,44,900 for the 256GB variant. The 512GB model will be priced at Rs 1,64,900, while the 1TB version is priced at Rs 1,84,900. It is being said that with the launch of iPhone 17 Slim, the company will also discontinue the Plus series. At present there has been no official confirmation of this. But, if this proves to be true, the iPhone 16 Plus could be Apple’s last Plus model.
