If you’re a regular Instagram user, chances are you’ve seen the beautiful views of Cedar Club House, a recently opened restaurant and bar on Tolstoy Lane in Delhi’s Janpath. With its Renaissance-inspired architecture and modern culinary flair, The Cedars Club House promises an intense dining experience that pleases both the eyes and the palate.
As soon as I stepped into Cedars, I was immediately mesmerized by the striking contrast of the bold black and white patterned floors with the marble fountain, which created an inviting ambiance. Wrought iron chairs and lush interiors give off an ambiance of grandeur, while the lively bar area buzzes with high-energy music.
But I had planned a quiet dinner. Luckily, The Cedars offers two exclusive private dining rooms, which are ideal for intimate gatherings. Walking down a cozy alley, I sat down in another dining area. As soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised to see another bar in the dining area.
Cedar cocktail praised:
I decided to start my culinary journey with the Cedar House Punch – a bourbon cocktail that expertly balances richness and freshness. My dining companion chose the kaffir lime-infused gin and Tonys which quickly became a favorite at the table. We also sampled the Caribbean Long Island Iced Tea, a vibrant blue blend that was enough to lift my spirits.
Cedar Food Review:
Cedar’s menu is a delightful mix of global cuisine dishes. From classic Indian dishes to innovative international flavours, there is something to satisfy every taste. For dinner, I enjoyed tandoori prawns, which were cooked perfectly and had a smoky, spicy flavour. The Chicken Yellow Curry Dimsum was another highlight with its creamy texture and delicious oyster sauce flavour. Fish from the Malabar Coast, with coconut curry and rice, was a satisfying and delicious dish. I also recommend the Angara Chicken Tikka, which is a unique twist on the classic dish.
While the appetizers and main courses were excellent, the dessert course fell short of expectations. I sampled the pistachio tres leches and baked cheesecake, but neither met my sweet tooth’s affection.
overall effect
The Cedar Club House is a beautiful restaurant with a unique ambiance and good food. However, there is scope for improvement in the sweets department and mosquito control. Nevertheless, it stands out as a great destination for weeknight dinners, combining live music and stunning interiors into a memorable experience. If you’re looking for a high-energy dining experience with delicious food and cocktails, Cedar Club House is definitely worth a visit.
