Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda recently shared her thoughts on dealing with social media trolls after getting admission into the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad. During the India Today Mumbai Conclave 2024 on Thursday, September 26, she expressed gratitude for the opportunities that social media provides, while also acknowledging the challenges that come with it.

“Social media has been a great platform because it has given a voice to a lot of people, a lot of people who didn’t have that kind of access earlier,” Navya said during a session titled ‘Beyond the Legacy: Gen Z for a Just and Equal India’.

He emphasised on the potential of social media in bringing about change. He said, “I think for me as an individual, it is a great medium to showcase my work. It is a great tool which, if used properly, has a lot of potential to bring about change.”

Reflecting on her educational journey, Navya said she feels fortunate. Studied at IIM AhmedabadShe said, “India has some of the best institutes in the world and it is incredible to be a part of IIM Ahmedabad. I consider myself fortunate to receive higher education under the guidance of some of the best professors in the world.”

Navya, who is also known for her initiative Project Naveli, underlined the importance of accepting feedback from the public. “If I consider myself working for the people, I don’t think I can get offended by what they say. It is important for me to see feedback; it will only make me a better person, a better entrepreneur and a better Indian,” she explained.

Often facing criticism, Navya acknowledges her privileged background, saying, “I accept that I come from a very different kind of reality. People will have something to say about that.” However, she stays focused on her goals and ambitions, and stresses that her responsibility is to herself and her work.

She concluded, “I don’t pay much attention to what people say negatively; I use it to make the best of my journey.”

While people of her age are busy partying on Saturday nights, Navya also revealed that she is found studying and attending classes on Saturday nights.
