Tamil director Mohan G was earlier arrested by the police for making controversial remarks on the Panchamritham served at the Pazhani temple in Tamil Nadu. He was detained by the Trichy District Cyber ​​Crime Police on September 24. However, recent reports suggest that Mohan G has been granted bail after his arrest in Chennai.
For those who don’t know, Mohanji was arrested from his house in Chennai after his statement created a controversy for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. According to media reports, he claimed that the prasad served at the Pazhani temple contained ingredients of contraceptive drugs. This statement created an uproar among the people.
Responding to these allegations, Samayapuram temple manager Kaviarasu filed a complaint against the director under five different sections. According to a TOI report, Mohanji was arrested from his house without any prior information to him or his family.
Following this, he was brought to the criminal court to pursue the case. However, the judge criticized the police officers for arresting Mohanji without any due process and granted him bail.
A day earlier, the Chennai BJP president also addressed the issue of Mohanji’s arrest and wrote on his x handle, “No formal information was given to the family as to what was the reason and what the case was. This is against the Supreme Court order.”
However, more information regarding Mohanji’s case is still awaited.
Talking about work, Mohan ji mainly works in Tamil cinema. He started his career as a director in 2016. His first film was Pazhaya Vannarpettai. After that he directed films like Rudra Thandavam Draupathi and Bakasooran.
His film Draupati faced criticism initially but it turned out to be a hit. This film was not supported by any producer and had to be made through crowdfunding.
