Last year, Honor returned to India after a long gap. This time the company has returned as an independent brand. Now it is called HTech. The company says that it is no longer associated with Huawei. And the company is trying to get out of its value for money brand image. The company now wants to target the expensive segment between Rs 25,000 and Rs 40,000. So far Honor has launched Honor X9b, Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro in India. Today the company has launched its first phone under Rs 20,000 in India, Honor 200 Lite.

The Honor 200 Lite is priced at Rs 17,999 and can be purchased using SBI debit and credit cards for Rs 15,999. It will go on sale across all channels from 12 AM on September 27, while Amazon Prime members will get access to the device 24 hours earlier i.e. from 12 AM on September 26 as part of the Amazon Great Indian Festival.

Like the existing Honor 200 series, the main highlight of the new Lite version is its camera. It has a 108-megapixel AI portrait camera at the back, paired with 5-megapixel wide and depth cameras and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is a 50-megapixel selfie camera. According to Honor’s marketing material, the main highlight is the phone’s portrait camera. It has different portrait focal lengths. Honor calls these 1x Environmental Portrait, 2x Atmospheric Portrait, and 3x Close-up Portrait.

Furthermore, the Honor 200 Lite features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that offers a peak brightness of 2000 nits. Looking at the pictures of the phone, it seems that the phone has slim and uniform bezels. The device also features 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut which basically helps in delivering an ultra-wide range of colors.

The Honor 200 Lite also features 3240Hz PWM dimming. This means the phone’s display has been certified by TœV Rheinland to provide smooth brightness transitions, reducing eye strain caused by screen flicker and making for a comfortable viewing experience for users who prefer lower brightness or use their phone in a dark setting. It also has something called Circadian Night Display which adjusts the screen’s colour temperature to reduce blue light, helping to regulate sleep cycles.

The Honor 200 Lite runs on MagicOS 8.0, an intent-based UI by the company. Powering the phone is a MediaTek Dimensity 6080 processor, which comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone is backed by a 4500mAh battery that supports 35W fast charging.
