After several action and patriotic films, Akshay Kumar has returned to the fan favourite genre of comedy. Recently, the director of the film Mudassar Aziz talked about Akshay Kumar’s consecutive flop films and also talked about the poor performance of the film Khel Khel Mein at the box office. The director, while talking to the Indian Express, said that he has full faith in Akshay’s career graph and he knows that he will find a way out soon.
In the interview, Mudassar said that he is too junior to talk about Akshay Kumar’s 33-year career graph in the entertainment industry. He highlighted that Kumar proves his stardom and calibre every day. “He has a very thinking mind. He keeps a lot of things in mind, so it’s not like he’s not solving the Rubik’s Cube in his mind. I’m sure he is. That’s why I say form is temporary but class is permanent,” the director shared.
Aziz said that the same thing happened with Shahrukh Khan and his streak of flops also lasted for 5-7 years. Therefore, Mudassar is sure that Akshay will find a way out soon.
The Khel Khel Mein director praised Akshay Kumar and called the experience of working with him ‘exciting’. An excited Mudassar said, “In my eyes and in the eyes of many people across the country, he will always be Akshay Kumar.”
Meanwhile, without giving away any spoilers, Akshay plays plastic surgeon Rishabh in Khel Khel. His character faces problems in his marriage with his wife Vartika (played by Vaani Kapoor), leading to a comedy of errors.
Khel Khel Mein clashed with Stree 2 at the box office and is currently running in theatres. It is worth mentioning that the film stars several talented actors like Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan and Amy Virk.
