Rhea Chakraborty recalls her depression after Sushant’s death: There was pain, there was worry
Actress Rhea Chakraborty recently spoke about her emotional journey of healing and forgiveness after the death of her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput. She also revealed the real reason behind starting her podcast.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty spoke about the challenges she faced after the death of her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020, in the latest episode of her podcast Chapter 2. During a candid conversation with actor Aamir Khan, she also talked about her healing journey. Aamir praised her for her resilience.
Rhea also recalled her journey to forgiveness, having faced much turmoil following Sushant’s sudden death and the intense public scrutiny that followed.
Aamir praised Riya for her courage And said, “What happened to you, I would call it a tragedy. The way your life changed after that, and the way you showed patience and strength, you did not lose hope or faith in yourself. We all can learn a lot from that. A person’s morale breaks and he breaks down. You are starting your second chapter.”
Riya said, “I think the upbringing in the army also makes a difference. Because you know life is tough. You have seen from childhood that when dad leaves, there are chances he may not come back. You are taught to fight and never give up. Always keep hope. It is in your DNA. No one can defeat you easily.”

During the conversation, the ‘Jalebi’ actor revealed how it took her years to come out of her depression after Sushant’s death. “It took me so long to start chapter 2 because I was recovering during this time. There was pain, anxiety, PTSD and a lot more. And grief overpowers everything. You are talking to someone and you are suddenly drowned in grief. There were certain things, but today I feel I have new energy. I feel like meeting people, my curiosity has rekindled. There was no interest in knowing about others and their lives. Depression conditions your mind. After overcoming that, now I feel like the sun is rising again. I feel like doing new things.”
In the podcast, Rhea revealed how Aamir Khan helped her control her anger during her difficult journey.
“I was always angry because everything was going against me. You advised me to watch the documentary the light that faces It’s about forgiveness. Seeing people who have been through worse things but still found a way to forgive changed my perspective.”
Rhea Chakraborty started her podcast journey on his birthday on July 1. Titled ‘Chapter 2’, it symbolises new beginnings, starting afresh and moving forward in life. The episode featuring Aamir Khan was released on Rhea’s YouTube channel on August 23.
