IC 814 The Kandahar Hijack trailer out: Anubhav Sinha’s limited series with Vijay Varma, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur promises nail-biting drama and thrill; watch

Netflix has released the official trailer of its upcoming limited series, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. Based on a true incident, the thriller drama depicts the gripping story of India’s longest hijacking that took place in 1999. The limited series also stars Vijay Varma, Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur along with Arvind Swami, Dia Mirza, Pooja Gor, Patralekhaa, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa in pivotal roles.

Apart from sharing the trailer, the streaming giant also revealed the release date of the show. The caption of the post read, “7 days. 188 lives lost on board. A nation’s worst nightmare. Based on true events – IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, a limited series, coming August 29, only on Netflix!”

In the trailer, Vijay Verma can be seen playing the role of Captain Sharan Dev, the pilot of IC 814, while Pankaj Kapoor plays the role of Foreign Minister Vijaybhan Singh. Naseeruddin Shah has joined the series in the role of Vinay Kaul, the Cabinet Secretary and head of CMG.

Moreover, Dia Mirza has added to the buzz by playing the role of journalist Shalini Chandra. Patralekhaa plays a flight attendant named Indrani, while Pooja Gor plays Vijay Verma’s wife who is waiting for her husband to return along with the people stranded in the plane. Kumud Mishra, Arvind Swami and Manoj Pahwa have added intensity to the upcoming hijack drama by playing the roles of RAW officer Ranjan Mishra, Foreign Ministry secretary and IB officer respectively.

With powerful dialogues and an ensemble cast, the trailer successfully manages to make an impact and sheds light on the topic of geopolitics.

IC 814: Kandahar Hijack is an unprecedented story of the never-ending seven days of agony and struggle of 188 people kidnapped at an altitude of 30,000 feet in December 1999. Anubhav Sinha is back with this show after Bhed. The filmmaker is the director of the show while Trishant Srivastava is its producer.
