Name a staple kitchen ingredient better than ketchup and we’ll wait. This condiment can be served with a variety of dishes (e.g.: French fries, burgers, chicken nuggets, onion rings) and adds a flavourful twist to any item. But, who knew ketchup would one day be used to test relationships? Yes, you read that right. According to a new TikTok trend, couples are evaluating their compatibility based on how efficiently their partners clean up spilled ketchup from the kitchen counter. Now, a social media user gave the challenge a unique twist by applying the culinary principle to his sister. Did she pass the test? Well, with flying colours. The video was shared by the brother on Instagram.

The clip shows her pouring ketchup in a circular pattern on the kitchen counter. The brother then poured the condiment in the middle. He told his younger sister, “I just want to see how you clean up the ketchup that has spilled on the counter.”

Sister immediately got to work. First, she covered the chopping board with wax paper. Then, she gently slid the wrapped chopping board onto the ketchup-stained counter. Amazingly, this transferred the ketchup onto the wax paper without any residue, and only in a visible pattern on the counter. What a brilliant trick! When the ketchup was completely wiped off, sister wiped the titbits off with a different cloth. The result? A squeaky clean counter.
