An Indian man living in the United States has cited work prospects, lifestyle changes and overall living environment as major factors as to why many people who move abroad with short-term plans to return home often settle there permanently.Gaurav Makhaloga shared his thoughts in a video posted on Instagram, explaining how his perspective changed after relocating to the US.He said that before leaving India he believed he would spend a few years earning money in America before returning home and settling down.However, he said that his experience after the transfer was different from what he expected.In the video, Makhloga highlighted the peaceful surroundings in her neighbourhood, showing quiet streets and green open spaces during the evening.

He said the tranquil environment explained to him why many people struggle to leave after living life in the country.He said, “Before coming to America, my plan was to just spend a few years here, then go back home and enjoy life. But look what I found here.”He said that although nothing can replace one’s homeland, the quality of life in the US often influences people’s decision to live there.Makhloga also said that professional opportunities and modern infrastructure were key factors behind that choice, arguing that they provide a level of comfort to many immigrants once they settle abroad.Despite praising life in America, he acknowledged the emotional connection people have with their native country, saying there is no substitute for one’s own home.
