Motorola is on to something moto edge 70 max – The phone has a large, high-quality display (6.83” LTPO OLED with 1440p+ resolution, 10-bit color, and 144Hz refresh rate) and a chipset powerful enough to power it (Snapdragon 8 Gen 5), a big battery for long streaming or gaming sessions (7,100mAh, 90W wired, 25W wireless charging – with magnets!) and Combines a rugged build (IP69, MIL-STD-810H).
However, last week’s survey revealed a flaw in the Max formula – and once you see the €800 / £700 / ₹55,000 price tag (for an 8/256GB phone), it’s easy to guess what it is.
In fact, people were not happy with only 8 gigabytes of RAM and only 256 GB of non-expandable storage compared to last year’s flagship price. Limited software support (only 3 OS updates) and Motorola’s reputation in terms of releasing updates were also major issues.
Some people like the Motorola Edge 70 Max despite its flaws. Good reviews can reassure other people. But the biggest group of people interested in the Max are those waiting for discounts.
And it will inevitably come. About 15% of voters say they are considering other Motorola phones. Those people? Well, many came up with the Motorola Signature, which has similar stats, although it offers the same battery capacity (5,200mAh) as it is thinner (7.0 mm vs 8.3 mm) and lighter (186 grams vs 221 grams). Importantly, the Signature has much better cameras – a 50MP main with a larger sensor (vs 1/1.28” vs 1/1.56”), a 50MP ultra-wide (vs 8MP) and even a 50MP 3x/71mm periscope (vs no tele lens on the Max).

We say discounts are inevitable because the Signature was expensive to begin with, but look at this now. You can get it on Amazon for less than €800 and from Motorola for €800 with a free pair of Moto Buds Loop and 125W Duo charger. At similar prices, we’re leaning towards the Signature as well – but things could change if the price of the Edge 70 Max drops.
