Dharma clarifies ‘Kill’ remake rumours: Only English language rights sold
Dharma Productions issued a statement on July 16 clarifying that only the English language remake rights of ‘Kill’ have been sold. The Indian language remake rights have not yet been acquired by any party.

Dharma Productions released a statement today on July 16 to clarify rumours surrounding the remake of ‘Kill’. The production house shared a note on their official Instagram handle in which they addressed the speculations surrounding the remake of ‘Kill’.
Sharing the news on Instagram, he wrote, “Clarification regarding the remake rights of our film Kill. Putting an end to the recent speculations about a remake of our film ‘Kill’ – we confirm that only the English language remake rights have been sold. Indian language versions have not yet been acquired by any party.”

The production house has confirmed that the English language-only remake rights of ‘Kill’ have been sold to Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment, producers of the ‘John Wick’ franchise.
Chad Stahelski of 87Eleven Entertainment said in a statement, “‘Kill’ is one of the best action films we have seen in recent times. Nikkhil has delivered action sequences that deserve to be seen by more and more audiences. It is a pleasure for us to remake it. We have huge responsibilities and I am looking forward to working with Nikkhil, Karan, Apoorva, Guneet and Achin to achieve it.”
In a joint statement, the makers of Kill said, “When we made Kill with Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt, we dreamed of global love and seeing Kill open in North American theaters was like seeing that dream come true. As we approach our global release, we are thrilled that 87Eleven Entertainment will remake our film in English.”
Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and starring Lakshya, Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, ‘Kill’ releases in Indian theatres on July 5 and in the US theatres on July 4.
