Dhurandhar: The Revenge is trying to collect more than Rs. 55 crores at the Indian box office on first Monday, probably around Rs. Around Rs 56-57 crore nett. This marks a decline of 20-25 percent compared to Friday, which is normally a very strong hold, even more so when it comes to the level of the film’s collections. After facing capacity constraints over the weekend, the film became a huge success and remained a constant hold on Mondays. Advance suggested Rs. Earning over Rs 50 crore on the day, the film has performed equally well. The film has maintained weekend pricing on weekdays, leading to high collections.
Additionally, the dubbed versions of the film have also performed very well, especially the Telugu, earning Rs. Earning of Rs 3 crore, almost 30 percent less than the opening day of the holidays.
Post-Eid, the box office remains high in Muslim population centres, so perhaps there is some boost in play, but the catch has been great even in places where the boost is minimal or non-existent. Take Punjab, for example, where the Muslim population is negligible and there is almost none of this incentive after Eid, yet the decline here from Friday will be less than 15 per cent. A similar trend exists in other non-Muslim population centres.
This doesn’t mean that there is no post-Eid excitement here; You have a state like Uttar Pradesh (apart from the NCR cities Noida and Ghaziabad) where this boost is generally most pronounced. Here, with a one point drop Monday would be roughly equal to Friday, but then again, the way the period typically runs, Monday could even be higher than Friday here. Basically the broad conclusion is that the film’s grip is largely internal, with the post-Eid season helping a bit.
The film’s five-day box office collection was approximately Rs. Around Rs 440 crore nett. The film will reach Rs 20 crore. It grossed Rs 500 crore on Wednesday, the seventh day of its release and grossed over Rs 500 crore at the end of its first week. 550 crore nett. Since the film is performing best in urban centres, it will be expected to have a very strong hold on Friday and then make good earnings over the weekend. There is every possibility that the film will earn Rs. Earning of Rs 700 crore till coming Sunday.
