WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new subscription model called “Whatsapp Plus”.

WhatsApp is reportedly developing an alternative premium subscription plan called ‘WhatsApp Plus’. The new plan could allow users to further customize the app, including changing the app icon and unlocking a variety of special stickers and ringtones. WhatsApp Plus is expected to make the platform more personalized for users. However, the core features of the app – like calling, texting and sending voice notes – will remain unchanged. The subscription will be completely optional, meaning users can continue using the free version of WhatsApp without switching to WhatsApp Plus.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Plus will offer multiple options to customize the app’s theme, icons, and accent colors. These may include 14 new WhatsApp icons and multiple color options for the interface, giving users more control over the appearance of the app.

Under the new subscription model, WhatsApp may increase the limit of pinned chats from three to 20, giving users more flexibility to easily access their most important conversations.
The report also mentions the possibility of special ringtones for customers. These ringtones are said to feature specific styles and may allow users to personalize their calling notifications based on their preferences or mood. They can also help users easily distinguish WhatsApp call alerts from notifications sent by other apps.

The company may introduce additional features over time to further improve the experience of WhatsApp Plus customers. These may include access to specific stickers, which may not be available to regular users, while some message reactions may also be more interactive in the paid version.

The report says that WhatsApp Plus is currently under development, and when it rolls out, it will be available for both Android and iOS. However, WhatsApp has not yet confirmed these specifications, pricing or official launch date for this plan.

WhatsApp is also reportedly working on a scheduled messages feature that could allow users to compose messages in advance and have them delivered automatically on a chosen date and time. Once a message is scheduled, it can appear in a dedicated section within the chat information screen, allowing users to review, edit, or delete the message before it is sent. This feature can make it easier to plan birthday wishes, reminders or work-related updates in advance without relying on third-party apps or automation tools.
