Actress Ileana D’Cruz has slammed online trolls who body-shamed global pop icon Rihanna over her post-pregnancy appearance, calling the criticism “bloody angry” and based on unrealistic expectations of women.

The backlash began after recent photos of Rihanna with her son Riot in Los Angeles surfaced online, prompting a flood of comments questioning her body after childbirth. The debate escalated when a magazine shared a headline saying that Rihanna’s decision not to hide her post-pregnancy body “has made people angry”, sparking strong reactions on social media.

Responding to the post on Instagram, Ileana wrote, “This makes me so crazy,” before addressing the broader issue of how women are judged after giving birth. In a detailed response, she said, “She is a powerful woman! She made a full-fledged baby and gave birth to that baby and is feeding that baby and keeping it alive and healthy, yet the question is ‘Why is she not back yet?’ Bloody infuriating unrealistic expectations (sic).”

Many social media users, particularly on X, began comparing images of Rihanna from different stages of her life, with some making disparaging comments about her appearance and suggesting that this is why “rich men date younger women.” The comments were widely criticized for reinforcing ageist and sexist narratives.

Ileana, who is a mother herself, reiterated that the pressure to “bounce back” after childbirth is unfair and harmful, stressing that women should not be limited only by their physical appearance after becoming mothers.

Rihanna has previously addressed the conversation about her post-pregnancy body. In a public appearance earlier this year, she opened up about embracing her body after childbirth and choosing outfits that celebrate rather than hide physical changes.

Rihanna has three children with her partner A$AP Rocky. Ileana D’Cruz was last seen in the film 2024 two and two lovewhich earned positive reviews despite a modest performance at the box office.
