A new teaser has been released for the upcoming season of the famous show House of the Dragon. With a premiere planned for the middle of the year, the series is gearing up to take another look at the proceedings of House Targaryen as more dragons enter the chat with the lure of becoming the one true ruler taking priority.
House of the Dragon Season 3 teaser out
It depicts Evan Mitchell’s Aemond Targaryen taking control of the Iron Throne following the defeat of Tom Glynn-Carney’s Aegon Targaryen, his brother, who says, “The King has abdicated the throne,” and threatens that a new line of Immaculate Kings will follow.
The most important point in the story is the event of the Battle of Gullet, where Rhaenyra’s son Jace (Jackerys Velaryon) takes charge of a dragon and flies it against House Velaryon, with his mother adding more fire-wielding beasts to her army. Flames rise and the season signals the grave fall of the Targaryens with the tagline, “From Fire Comes Darkness”.

Based on George RR Martin’s Fire and Blood, the new trailer for House of the Dragon season 3 arrives just before the finale of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which takes place about 90 years before Game of Thrones. This will be the first time that two seasons of the author’s much-loved franchise will air in the same year.
Returning cast members include Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabian Frankel, Evan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collette, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Fiona Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, Tom Bennett, Kieran Beau, Kurt Agiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gail Rankin and. Abubakar Salim.
As far as new cast members go, actors James Norton as Ormond Hightower, Tommy Flanagan as Lord Roderick Dustin and Dan Fogler as Ser Toren Manderly have been announced. Ryan Condal and George RR Martin have been announced as co-creators and executive producers along with Sarah Hayes, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin De La Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock and Philip Goslett.
Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon season 3 has also been confirmed to release in June 2026.
